Review on Miscy - Commissioned Blouse

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to blog about the commission I did with Miscy. Her Facebook
is here. (Etsy shop doesn't link to it.) Now, this was the first time I had a commission piece done,
and I just want to say I enjoyed working with Miscy; she very patient in answering any
questions, and even helped me in explaining Paypal, (buying from her shop was the first time I
     used Paypal. Added to the helpfulness was the fact she knew what she was doing perfectly;
she's a talented seamstress, and the blouse was sewn professionally; I felt it should have been
     sold in a physical boutique!

Alright, I'll give the actual review now. ^^ I inquired if Halley was available for commissions,
around mid-September, and she replied she will be open again by October. She asked what
some of my sizes were, and fabric choices, to give me an approximation for the price. After I
chose what I wanted, ( I decided to get a cotton/poly mix), she gave me the price value, and
started working on it by mid-October, when she was free. (By the way, I told her to take as
much time as she needed, but if you wanted a piece by a certain date, I'm sure she can work
it out with you.) Along the way, she kept me updated on the item, and took photos of the
        blouse coming together.

In  December, I received the package on the 13th. (This was holiday season,
and not her fault, so I was expecting delays.) The package came fine, and carefully
packaged, and looked exactly like the photos she showed me.I had a wonderful time
working with Halley, and she is very talented; even if you don't commission a piece, she
has items for sale on her Etsy shop. (Linked above!)

List Of Lolita Brands and Indie Brands

So, for anyone who is a fan of Lolita fashion and is aware of the EGL Livejournal community,
you will know that after some searching, there is a few posts on compilations of different Lolita
sites. I will link those links here a little later on, but this page will essentially list big Japanese and
indie brands, and links to overseas indie brands. Some links listed will be accessory shops that
cater to Lolita, even if they don't have a clothing selection. Everything won't be listed in one
shot, but I'll organize it in the following day or two. One thing to note, I have not purchased
from every store I'm linking to, and not every shop will have the same level of quality; do
some research and read reviews if you're ordering from an unfamiliar brand.A good chunk of these
links were taken from Hello Lace, but I'll try to add more preferences later, as quite a bit more is
    not listed.

Choc-Oh!-Lot Plus in Brooklyn, New York

For many years, I passed over a yummy looking chocolate shop, called Choc Oh! Lot Plus. It's
actually a pastry supply shop, with a huge chocolate section as well, that has truffles and assorted
flavors. I liked the chocolate, but the truffles tasted a little thick for my liking; I ate them all, but I
prefer the type where you have a soft, melt in your mouth center, instead of the thick and gooey
center. They have a limited assortment of different candies as well, but the eye catcher is definitely
the chocolate and all the pastry supplies you could think of. :p As for the chocolate, it's good
for fans that like thick-almost candied like substances as truffle centers, but not for chocolate
fans looking for something a little more delicate or creamier.

Yogu Time Drink

Many Asian shops will sell many fruit flavored drinks, and one I always eyed was a drink called Yogu Time. Unfortunately, I could not find any website for them, and the closest I got was learning a company called rgr.inc might have something to do with the brand. (If anyone can find a website, let me know!)  Despite being called a "Yogurt Drink",it doesn't taste like yogurt at all; it tastes like a watery juice drink.

(It's not thick or has any milk taste to it either, but it might have yogurt cultures.) I think the best
example I could give the drink was that it vaguely reminded me of Calpico, in consistency,
but maybe a little lighter. It's a great drink for sweet lovers, and I did enjoy it, but for all you
yogurt fans out there, it's not really a yogurt drink; even if it has yogurt it tastes like candied juice!

Review on DreamV Shoes

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to do a review on the Rakuten website, DreamV. DreamV is a gal website, a different fashion style in Japan, but they have a lot of cute shoes that can be used in Lolita fashion. Their clothes are known to have varying quality, but as I heard good things about their shoes, I decided to place an order and try them out. In order to buy from them, you have to first make an account in the English Rakuten site. (Rakuten is like a Japanese Amazon site, they have a few official companies in their site and some people making accounts and selling secondhand items.)

After that, you place an order, fill the translated form, (everything is in English), and
make your order. A few confirmation e-mails will arrive shortly after; the first few right after
the order, and the rest with a tracking number a few days after. I placed my order on November
26, and got the package on December 3rd. Well I actually got it December 1st, but USPS
usually leaves packages by the door when no one answers the bell. They didn't this time so
on the 3rd, I had to go to the post office to get the package. Some sites mention there is a
confirmation e-mail DreamV sends you that you might have to reply to, but you don't need to
send any; they shipped my package without me responding to any of the e-mails. (And I wasn't
sure which one, as they sent quite a few before the package came, all in Japanese!) Now when
I got my shoes I was pleased because they did feel like sturdy and good quality shoes. The problem?

I didn't measure my feet correctly. I looked up a YouTube tutorial on how to find your correct
shoe size in centimeters, (they sell the shoes in centimeters), and they said to draw around your
foot on paper and measure the traced paper.Well my foot size is exactly 22cm, but the shoes were
an extremely tight fit. When I realized I should have measured some of my shoes I currently
wear, those shoes measured 23.5-24cm. (I should have done this in the beginning but it was
my fault.) I didn't say anything to the company, as I feel online especially, it would be too much
of a hassle. I decided to sell this pair and order the correct size next time.~

Kazouza Sparkling Fruit Drink

Hey everyone; A Happy New Years to you! I was planning on finishing these posts before the
new year, but getting them done early in the year works too! I hope to have the energy this year to
stop being so lazy and start getting more things done.~ First up is a review on Kazouza, a
Lebanese carbonated juice drink from Cedar's Premium. The bottles have 1941 on their bottles,
the year the company producing the drink was founded. On this blog I found, the website owner
sent e-mails to the company, and apparently this drink was one of the first, (or the first), soft drinks
to get advertised in Lebanon.I found one in a Mediterranean shop at downtown Brooklyn, but I
have seen it in a few other supermarkets too. The drink isn't exactly a soda, it's a juice/sparkling
fruit drink, what have you. The flavor I tried was the Very Berry, and it was sweet and a little tart,
and reminded me of candy while I drank it. It left a good impression on me, so if I get the chance,
 I'll try other flavors too!
