Uncle Louie G - Homemade Gourmet Italian Ices & Ice Cream

Hey everyone! Today is a little grey outside, so I'm going to be doing a blog post on
something sweet to cheer my mood up a bit. ^^ So if you come to Brooklyn or Manhattan,
or just about any borough with a strong amount of pizzerias or Italian stores, chances are
you had an Italian Ice. For those who never had them, Italian ices are ices that taste like a
mixture of a fruit slush, as the texture is very soft, and a Popsicle.(If you had a sorbet,
        it's very similar to that.)

Now my neighborhood had Italian Ices sold in pizzerias most of the time, usually
offering only 5 flavors; white chocolate chip, lemon, cherry, rainbow, and something
like pistachio or coconut. Once long ago, a store opened near 4th avenue that had several
different flavors, but it closed down years ago, leaving only the pizzerias with their 5 or
so flavors in Bay Ridge. So imagine my surprise, when I see an Uncle Louie G in Bay
Ridge, offering over 80 flavors! (I'm not sure on the exact date, but I'd say it opened about
        two years ago.)

Uncle Louie G's is an ice cream and Italian icy place, so you will find a huge
assortment of frozen sweets here, such as slushies, ice cream, ice cream cakes, frozen
coffee, frozen hot chocolate, and of course, the Italian Ices. This particular location is
located in 3rd avenue, Bay Ridge, in Brooklyn, and has a lot of seats in it if you don't
want to leave right away. Some days the music played is vintage songs from the 40's or
50's, and other days you will hear modern pop music. But the decor is guaranteed to stay
the same; the place is full of  retro era posters and ads from the 50's.~

In the photo, I ordered a cherry Italian Ice in a small, and it was enough to make me
pretty full since it's a few scoops. XD  I haven't tried all of the flavors, but the rainbow,
cherry, and blueberry are all pretty good. ^^ They have several locations state wide, so
go and try them if you get the chance!
